Pilot release for assisted setup. Apple signing and a full fresh-Mac installation test are still pending. Arrange setup with your UNISON administrator before using it during a service.
From download to your first listener
Install on the Mac
Unzip the download and open Install.command. It checks requirements and guides you through organization and audio setup. Save your new administrator password.
Connect your organization
Open the setup invitation sent to your email and choose “Verify email and continue.” Generate your one-time activation code when ready, then enter it and your installation ID in the installer. No ChatGPT account is needed.
Try it on a phone
Open First-time setup in the dashboard for organization details, languages, audio routing and QR Access. Test sound and screen-off playback on the same network before your first service.
What you’ll need
A Mac, an audio input with the required language channels, and a phone on the same network for testing. Install any audio device drivers first.
Guided requirements setup
The installer checks Node.js, SoX, FFmpeg and MediaMTX. It can install missing tools through Homebrew with your confirmation. If Homebrew is missing, it opens the official setup page.

Where do I get an activation code?
Your UNISON administrator adds your manager email when creating your organization. You receive a private, single-use setup link by email, valid for seven days. After verifying email access, generate an activation code valid for 24 hours. Ask your administrator to resend the invitation if needed. Downloading alone does not grant organization or Admin access.
What if macOS blocks the installer?
This pilot is not yet Developer ID signed and notarized. Do not disable your Mac’s security protections. Stop and contact your setup administrator if macOS blocks it.
Can I finish setup later?
Yes. Open Finish-Setup.command inside your home folder’s Applications → UNISON-Connect folder. Existing settings and completed activation are preserved. An interrupted activation needs an administrator to check its status first.
Are automatic updates included?
Remote software updates are not enabled in this new-organization pilot. Your administrator will provide update instructions. The existing church updater is a separate installation.
Can listeners use it outside our Wi-Fi?
This pilot starts with same-network listening. A public HTTPS listener address needs separate setup. Your organization’s name, logo, introduction and contact information can be added in Settings.
